This is a list of global health resources pertinent to UW residents and fellows. Please let us know if you have any more to add!

Recently updated funding opportunities:

AHP (Africa Health Placements) - Opportunities to work in broad-based clinical practice, focusing on maternal and child health, infectious diseases and emergency care.

Other funding opportunities:

Yale’s Johnsons program - no longer covers travel and lodging – just access to their sites, including Eritrea
NIH Fogarty travel grants - mostly for research purposes
American Academy of Pediatrics’ Section on International Child Health (SOICH) also offers travel awards ($500). The next cycle is due in March. If you are interested you should start collecting letters and drafting applications now. You will need to make sure to be a Section member (about $15 for residents – a great deal).
GO Health Fellowship (through the Dept of Global Health). The fellowship provides support (up to $4000), requires an application, and is open to residents. Applications are AVAILABLE NOW: Due by March 14!
Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation Post-Graduate Fellowship is an intensive training program that provides opportunities for self-directed research and interdisciplinary collaboration in health metrics. Strong candidates for this program have graduate-level training in quantitative methodology from one of the following areas: health policy, economics, mathematics, computer science, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, health services, demography, engineering, physics, medical sciences, or other related fields.
Fulbright Grant to work in Ghana for 9 months on injury-prevention related work
Income-Based Repayment (IBR) - This should help with loan repayment while you are a resident/fellow and working in certain posts. The sooner that one applies, the more likely you can get loans repaid if you qualify.
