OVERSEAS WORK

  • Yale/Stanford Johnson & Johnson Global Health Scholars Program
  • For the 2010-2011 cycle, the program will no longer provide funding for international travel, although they will continue to offer opportunities to applicants to use their overseas and training resources, and to be designated as as Yale/Stanford J&J Global Health Scholars. 
  • Center for AIDS Research 
  • Children’s Health International Medical Project of Seattle
  • Founded by University of Washington Pediatric residents in 2002, this group provides ongoing work to address local health problems in rural El Salvador through alliance with a NGO (ENLACE).  The program arranges for one week medical brigada  - outreach trips to rural El Salvador, focusing on public health education and sustainable medical assistance.  Residents can also arrange one month electives.

  • Ensure that any non-UW person accompanying you also has health insurance with medical evacuation coverage!
